Myrtle Beach says lawsuit on new tax is faulty
Former Myrtle Beach Mayor Mark McBride’s lawsuit against the city over its new 1 percent sales tax is full of mistakes and should be dismissed “with prejudice,” the city says in its recent response to the lawsuit. McBride’s complaint, filed at the end of July, asks Horry County Circuit Court to stop the city from collecting the 1 percent tourism development tax that went into effect within city limits in Aug.
